Great Lakes Tribal Summit AICCMI Booth Winner

Our booth at the Great Lakes Tribal Summit in New Buffalo, MI offered an opportunity to register for a chance at winning a digital weather station. The winner of the blind drawing is Ellie Mitchell, owner of Bead & Powwow Supply of Grand Rapids, both an Anishinaabe and woman owned business. If you are in need of fabric, ribbon, beads, or many other powwow needs, this is a business worth checking out at powwowsupply.com. Ellie, check your mail for a package from the American Indian Chamber of Commerce Michigan! Congratulations!

New AICCMI Logo Creation

The chamber would like to offer our thanks to Elizabeth July for the work she put into the AICCMI Logo Creation. Her interpretation of our chamber’s vision is such a fitting image to represent our state and Michigan’s Native American people.

The blue represents the water of our Great Lakes, the green represents Mother Earth, the eagle feather represents honesty, truth, strength, courage, wisdom, power and freedom, and the dots on the edges represent the beads that are used in traditional outfits and other ceremonial wear.

Miigwetch Ms. July,

Many, many thanks!
